The support of the philosophy of sustainable development in every sector of human activity by a very large part of the human population in recent years has led to the restoration of the philosophy of using natural materials for building structures in modern architecture. This trend is supported by innovative modern studies and scientific research, which have led to the development of different innovative technologies for creating building materials.
The shift to the restoration of primitive building practices is also the relatively recent establishment of various working groups around the world, which aim to revive and diagnose the use of natural materials in building activity as a means of preserving architectural heritage.
Arion Bay has been built and renovated with natural materials and in traditional architecture, in accordance with local law regulations. 

At the same time, they are equipped with the legal materials specified by the building legislation in the sensitive island environment of Santorini. The windows and doors are wooden and not PVC or aluminum or plastic, as only wooden windows are allowed and legal in Santorini.

The windows have traditional shutters with grilles to allow the sea breeze to enter and to naturally cool the room and to ventilate it adequately for hygiene reasons.
The floors are mostly marble from rare or now exhausted Greek marbles of unique beauty or ceramic tiles or cement mortar. 

The masonry is made of stones or clay bricks and the mud is made of cement.
Non-toxic and environmentally friendly materials are used even in annual maintenance.

Our goal is to protect the environment, to operate within the framework of the defined urban planning rules and to preserve and highlight the local architecture and decoration, so as to offer you an authentic Santorinian hospitality experience.

Respecting the principles of sustainable architecture and the law, we have preserved palm trees and greenery in the common areas, while on the beach that we rent from the state we do not have any permanent construction, unsightly or destructive to the marine and coastal environment.

Unless there is an emergency, we will change the sheets after 3 days of stay, if you wish for a more frequent change, please confirm your intention upon your arrival by e-mail. After that, the green discount is deducted.

During the summer months, energy saving measures include limiting waste such as: turning off cooling when doors and windows are wide open;

✅ Responsible Cleaning

Our daily cleaning routines focus on maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Daily cleaning includes: airing the space, sweeping and mopping, removing waste, freshening the toilet, replenishing consumables (soap, toilet paper, etc.), making beds, only if there are no personal items spread out on top, we do not tidy the room. Cleaning workers are specifically instructed not to touch your personal belongings.
If you would like daily general cleaning, please confirm by e-mail. In this case the green discount is removed.

If you prefer a different type of cleaning that is not in line with green practices, you can request it by e-mail, after your request the green discount is removed.
